Recommended Uses Designed for footings for decks that are not attached to the ledger of a house. Keep deck ΒΎ" to 1" away from foundation or siding to allow for settling or seasonal vertical movement. Decks can be built as low as 2" from underside of beam to grade and as high as 6' from top of deck surface to grade. Posts should be braced to beams and joists for any deck 18" or higher.
Other Prepare site by removing sod and laying down 3" of Β½" crushed stone and tamp down to compress. Crushed stone compresses well and is porous so water flows away from plate without eroding loose soil in heavy rain. Do not use for free standing posts such as fence posts. Not designed to provide significant resistance from lateral forces at top of post.
